Welcome to Von Steuben's Lookup pages. The point of the Lookup Database/Project is to allow for everyone (outsiders and insiders) to get access to information about teachers, departments, sports and course offerings/details. All information throughout these pages are linked together to provide an easy-to-use and up-to-date interface for speedy and accurate results. We are the first and only school in the CPS area that implements this kind of technology.
Use this link to go directly to a listing of all of our teachers. You can find your teacher faster by selecting the first letter of their last name on this page. It will load by default with a listing of all teachers. Because of this, please give it a few seconds to load. You can refine your teacher search by clicking one of the letters at the top of the page to display all last names beginning with that letter. Clicking a teacher will load their profile, which can include their picture, what class(es) they teach, what the current homework is, and what sports they sponsor/coach - if any. From a profile page, you can also view all the other teachers who are members of the same department and view their profiles as well.
Use this link to go directly to the listing of all of our departments. Here you can see which teachers are members of which department, and what courses are offered from each department. If the link is there, click "Show Course Offerings" to see the course listings for the specified department. You can then pull up individual details for each course, which can help you decide which courses you want to sign up for. The departments page also has a link to the department's official website, if they have one.

Use the Homework Browser to view any assignment from any teacher. You can search for already due assignments, as well as looking up future assignments. By default you are presented assignments that are currently assigned. The Homework Browser is great at helping you refine your search to make sure that you pull up assignments that only apply to your schedule. You must select course, teacher and period before you are given currently pending assignments. You also can supply a date range in which you can pull up old or new assignments from throughout the year. Although homework is accessible also through teacher profiles, the Homework Browser is more flexible in that it lets you display any assignment that the teacher has entered into our database. |
